wonderful stories and Beautiful Pictures
My girlfriend and I were travelling Australia for a year. On our way to Carnarvon Gorge we stopped in the tourist info centre in Emerald and found a flyer promoting the gem fields. We thought we'd spend a night but wound up spending 4! We rented equipent and got a license to try our hand at fossicking, checked out the local market and bought some watercolour artwork, but mainly, we browsed through many many sapphire and gem shops! We passed through Taylors Fine Sapphire and there was one ring that stood out. My girlfriend tried it on and loved it, amazing colours, perfectly set, that's the ring I was going to propose with. We bought apair of earing to take home for my mom, a necklace for my sister, and left the ring. I dropped my girlfriend off at a coffee shop and told her I had to run an errand. I went back to Taylors and bought the ring, hiding it, and travelling the next 6 months keeping it hidden. I kept that ring safe for close to 3 years waiting for the right time, and when that time came, she said yes! It took her a moment to realise it was the same ring from our trip and we both love having a story behind it.
